ICIC & ISAAR 2019

We are pleased to informed that SSMB is a collaborating society of the ICIC & ISAAR 2019 symposium.

The ICIC (International Interscience Conference on Infection and Chemotherapy) was founded by the Korean Society for Infectious Diseases (KSID) in 2013.

The ISAAR (International Symposium on Antimicrobial Agents and Resistance) has been organized by the Asia Pacific Foundation for Infectious Diseases (APFID) biennially since 1997.

The ICIC & ISAAR 2019 will provide a variety of programs with a strong emphasis on epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of emerging infectious diseases. They also will cover various issues on AMR and the development of new antimicrobial agents and vaccines. Special lectures and presentations by world-leading scientists and physicians can foster global solutions to the problems of infectious diseases and AMR.

11th Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) Regional Symposium 2019

The 11th Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) Regional Symposium 2019 was organised by Singapore Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (SSMB) and Bioprocessing Technology Institute, A*STAR from 23 to 25 Jan 2019 in Biopolis. The theme for AFOB Regional Symposium 2019 was “Biotechnology for the Asian Century”. The aims of the symposium were to bring together Asian scientists working on emerging platform technologies and their biotechnology applications, to network, share ideas and knowledge, as well as to drive biotechnological advancements in Asia for the 21st Century. The symposium attracted almost 500 participants from more than 20 countries. SSMB members were invited to attend the free talks and the 46th Annual General Meeting of SSMB was held concurrently with the symposium be on 25 January 2019.

Practical Approach To Allergen Management

Jointly organised by Singapore Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (SSMB), Singapore Institute of Food Science and Technology (SIFST), Nanyang Polytechnic and Chokim Scientific (S) Pte Ltd.

There will be a short hands-on session at the NYP Food Safety Centre at the end of the workshop. Interested participants are invited to bring along their own samples to do a test run. The samples will be tested for Egg and Peanut allergens. This will be limited to the first 10 participants on a first come first served basis.
